Flushing

Flushing

With about seven to ten days left until harvest, marijuana plants need to be flushed. Flushing as the name implies involves watering your plants with an excessive amount of water, what this will do is flush out nutrients from the soil. Having fewer nutrients late during flowering will improve your marijuana’s taste. With fewer nutrients available in soil the plant will use nutrients from within its leaves for the last few days of budding. This will cause leaves to turn bright green and yellow, however with just a few days left till harvest, this will not matter.

I flushed my plants by placing them in a large plastic container and watering each one with 6 liters (about 2 gallons) of water. Excess water will collect in the plastic container.
